Meet Purvi Bhavsar
She is the Managing Director of Pahal Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. (Pahal) which she co-founded in 2011 with Kartik Mehta and Daksha Shah.
Since inception, Pahal, an NBFC-MFI, has served more than 7.5 lakh women borrowers by disbursing more than Rs. 2,000 crores in loans. As of the latest date, it manages assets in excess of Rs. 700 crores across 150 branches in 7 states; is profitable and employs more than 1,300 people. Pahal has attracted equity investments over 2 rounds from well recognized Impact Investors like Dia Vikas and Base of Pyramid Asia; and debt funding from various Development Financial Institutions, Banks, NBFC’s and Microfinance Investment Vehicles.
Prior to co-founding Pahal in 2011, Purvi spent 17 years as a Professional working with reputed corporates like Kotak Mahindra, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Vodafone gathering diverse experience across the entire spectrum of Corporate and Retail Banking, Consumer Finance, Micro finance, Stock Broking, Distribution and Customer Service.
She has been a fast track performer throughout her career gathering multiple awards for her superlative performance – from being recognized as one of the Leading Women in Telecom in 2010 to most recently being recognized as one of Top 10 Women In Finance 2020 by CEO Insights Magazine! Most recently, Purvi has been featured as one of the prominent entrepreneurs, in entrepreneur cum author Deepak Kashyap’s new book, “JUNOON JARURAT JUGAAD: How to Build a Threat Proof and Future Ready Business”.
Besides managing Pahal, Purvi also sits on the Board of Ahmedabad based Affordable Housing Finance Company and is an active Angel Investor. Till recently, she also served on the Board of a very reputed non-profit working in the field of health, education etc.
