Meet Shikha Uberoi Bajpai
She is the President of Indi, which she co-founded the Indian operations for, in 2014. Indi empowers every individual to make money from their social connections in a fun and easy way. The platform works as an extensive resource for brands to drive more meaningful and deep-rooted social media engagement. Since the launch of its app earlier this year in July in the US, Indi is ranked 8 in the App store under Business with over 140,000 app downloads. Indi has raised USD 9 Mn i.e. nearly INR 70 crores in equity across 2 rounds. The India launch of the app is slated for Q1 2021.
Shikha is also the Founder & President of Impact Media 360, Inc. which she founded in 2013 to create and produce social impact film and television. Impact Media 360 Inc. launched the world’s first ever social entrepreneurship reality TV show – The Real Deal – in 2016 generating nearly INR 3 Cr of deal flow in the form of Equity and Debt for India’s Top Social Entrepreneurs. The Real Deal enjoyed 10 Million loyal viewers when it first aired in India and is in pursuit of being a global franchise.
Prior to co-founding India operations of Indi.com; and founding Impact Media 360, Inc. Shikha was a professional tennis player who made a mark for women in sports, put India on the map and opened gates for other Indian athletes. Her prominent accomplishments include reaching top 100 on the WTA Tour being only one of two Indian female players in history to do so; winning India a silver medal at the Asian Games in 2006; first Indian woman to reach the second round of US Open after qualifying in 2004. She competed for a decade on the WTA tour. She’s an Indian Icon 2007 and 2015, one of India’s top 10 most glamorous athletes, and was the top 10 fastest server in the world.
This professional athlete turned entrepreneur, also mentors, advises, and serves as a trustee for various start-ups, serving a range of sectors. Currently, she mentors entrepreneurs for organisations like Facebook She Leads Tech, NCode, and Round Glass.
