Meet Susheema Vidyaratnaraj
She is the Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of SYConE CPMC Pvt. Ltd. (SYConE) established in 1994 with Yashavanth Ananthraj, her partner in business and life. She is the Founder and Managing Director of IRIDIUM Projects Pvt. Ltd., established in 2017. She has recently become a co-owner of Mangalore Sharks Team at the Grand Prix Badminton League.
Incorporated in 1994 as a Proprietorship firm, SYConE converted to a Pvt Ltd company in 2004. It was started as an Engineering & Project Management Company and later diversified into a Design Build Services Company for all types of buildings and interiors. Till date SYConE have completed & delivered more than 450 projects across 20 states in India, Sri Lanka and GCC Counties. These projects span across sectors – Residential & Commercial Real Estate, Education Institutions, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, IT Offices, Data Centres, Leisure & Recreation, Retail, Defence etc. Some of SYConE’s marquee clients include GE, Rolls Royce, Mahindra, TCS, Wipro, Indian Institute of Science, IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Udaipur, IIIT, Hilton, Marriott, Airtel, VSNL, etc.
IRIDIUM, on the other hand, was established to take on interior development projects with a focus on niche interior projects such as specialized interiors for manufacturing plants, retail, corporate offices, designer homes etc. Within its short span of existence, it has delivered projects for marquee clientele such as one of the largest coffee trading company based in Singapore, an integrated smart mega city in Bangalore and a Malaysian Coffee Retail Chain.
Susheema is an Electrical Engineer and ventured into entrepreneurship soon after completing MBA in Finance from SDM-IMD, Mysore, Karnataka in 1996. She is an accredited professional for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) from the U.S. Green Building Council. She also pursued an Executive Program for Senior Management from IIM, Bangalore in 2017.
For her contributions to the construction industry, she was awarded the 2018 Women Entrepreneur Award by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce (FKCCI). She also won the Best Business Giver for the year 2021-22 at Business Network International (BNI), Bangalore Region. Her alma mater Sri Vani Education Centre conferred “Vani Star” upon her in 2010, in recognition of her accomplishments. She bagged the very first Gold Medal for Excellence in Finance at her B School graduation.
Susheema actively engages in networking beyond her work. She is the Founding President of SDM Entrepreneur’s Network which is an SDM-IMD alumini network of entrepreneurs, Director at FKCCI for third consecutive year, Member at CEO Clubs of India, BNI, Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) and Rotary Club of Bangalore.
She is also at the forefront of championing the cause of women empowerment from grassroots to Boardrooms in India. She is the Founding President of Spoorthi, the ladies wing of Builders Association of India (BAI), which caters to welfare of women & children in Construction Industry; Founding Member of Divershefy Club which works towards increasing Gender Diversity in Boardrooms & C-Suites; Chairperson of Women Entrepreneur’s committee at FKCCI that works towards upskilling women entrepreneurs; and Office Bearer at Jain Mahila Okkoota that works towards women empowerment by creating a self-support ecosystem, where she conducted Legal Rights and Financial Awareness programs for women.
Susheema is also a trained Carnatic Classical Singer and has released 7 music albums till date. She has also performed in more than 20 Concerts across Karnataka to popularise the songs of the Great Kannada Poet Ratnakara Varni.
